The lighthouse was built on the Cap Ferret peninsula (Gironde), between Arcachon and the Atlantic Ocean. The first lighthouse of Cap Ferret entered service in 1840. It operated with steam oil. It was electrified in 1928. Built in stone, it had a height of 50 meters and a range of about 50 kilometers. With its 258 stairs, the lighthouse we see today was rebuilt in 1947 and opened on August 7, 1949. Miniature resin lighthouse, hand painted. A beautiful decorative souvenir.
